Room 3 2017

Life in Room 3. What have we been up to? At circle time we are learning to: Speak clearly. Sit with our arms and legs folded. Look at the person who is speaking. Listen to our classmates. U se kind words. At Maths time we are learning to classify 2D shapes. We are now published writers.!   Our Inquiry into "Life Cycles "continues.We were lucky enough to see the Monarch butterflies emerge. We are enjoying making a life cycle wall display.We are trying to use lots of different techniques and materials. Here we are making our own chrysalis collage. Patience is required!!Next stop beautiful butterflies!! Last but not least we love to go outside and work on those big ball skills ! Catching -bouncing -throwing and rolling . Great work in Room 3.

  Room 3-  2016 .   Room 3 is underway!! Everyone has made a great start to school life at Muritai. Here are some of the things we have been doing.... Assembly certificates-well done girls ! Beach clean up and discovery time with our buddy class. P.M.P with some students from Room 4.   Showing off our fabulous swimming skills at our swimming sports last week. Enjoying some sharing time with Room 2  . We l coming our preschool visitors to Room 3.     I -pads as part of our reading rotation.   Silent reading from our book boxes after morning tea.   Book corner.   Observing what is happening in our Junior butterfly garden. We are enjoying our inquiry into Life -Cycles We have lots to look forward to as we welcome more students and begin our learning journey.

Fridge Magnets Constructing our fridge magnets was a lot of fun.  As a class we constructed a butterfly magnet together following instructions carefully.We then drew an individual design on our whiteboards and thought about the materials we might need to create our own magnet. We gathered materials from what was available in the classroom and double checked our designs before constructing them. Easier said than done at times !! The  end products not only looked fantastic but  all held up our Word Walls which was part of our criteria for success. Great job Room 3-the magnets show individuality and creativity and the ability to follow a process of design through  was satisfying.Well done. The design and construction process.    S uccess! ...
