Jane Lloyd, an artist, visited us and taught us how to draw a picture of a bucket, pumpkin and a book using pencil and also how to do shading. This is what we did.

Hi Room 3 Mauis mum is in Melbourne at the moment and its great to see all the budding artists in room 3 and keep up with the wonderful activities that you are all doing. Well done!
The Solar System We are really enjoying our inquiry into the amazing Sun and the Solar System -We read the story of how Maui and his brothers caught the sun and created this fabulous mural of that story. We formulated questions based on this and found that it was a great way to retell a story with the information we needed right in front of us -larger than life! W e also created some fabulous Day /Night pictures. Maui and his brothers made ropes out of flax to snare the sun. Here are our own individual pictures -great work Room 3.
We are learning about 2D shapes and put together some pictures. We are learning to count forwards and backwards to 20-playing Maths games reinforces the concepts we have been introduced to during our Maths sessions. Games also foster co-operation, turn taking and accepting outcomes. During our guided reading session we worked together to read and follow instructions. We wanted to try and replicate an illustration from the book and had to carefully read and follow each step-it was not as easy as it looked but we achieved great results! Well done !! Our monarch butterfly emerged during interviews with Finn and his parents. C ongratulations to our award winners-great job! Keep up the good work.
