Our Visit to the NewDowse Museum

On Wednesday we went by bus to the NewDowse Museum in Lower Hutt. We were met by Pirate Andy and his talking parrot. We then went into 'The Enchanted Forest' exhibition which we thoroughly enjoyed. We then had a workshop during which we produced these wonderful kites. BubbleShare: Share photos - Easy Photo Sharing

Perfect Presenters!

Last week Room 3 were the presenters at Junior School Assembly. They had to practice their lines and then stand up in front of their friends in the Junior School and introduce each of the items. They did a fantastic job! They also performed an item for the audience. They were also the best listeners and were awarded Spencer Bear to keep in room 3 for the next two weeks. This is what they looked like. BubbleShare: Share photos - Easy Photo Sharing

Super Swimmers!

We have enjoyed going to the Eastbourne Pool each week for our swimming lessons so we can practice and improve in our water skills. We went to Naenae Pool on the bus for the Junior School Swimming Sports and were very proud to show our friends and families how clever we are in the water. Here we are waiting for our turn. Amazing writers!

Room 3 went to the Capital E Festival, which involved watching three different shows throughout the day. The first one involved the retelling of some fairy tales, the second one was a papier mache puppet doing all sorts of movements and the third one enabled them to do singing and dancing. We hope you enjoy reading these stories are about what they liked best. I liked the part of the show when the wolf blew the house down. By Daniel I liked the Billy Goat Gruff story when the Billy Goat Gruff got scared away. By Georgina. I liked it when he blew the house down but he couldn't. By Sabine Hugo, Stella, Sabine and I are watching the show. By Auriel I like going on the bus. By Chevron I giggled when the puppet washed Mrs Buckley's shoes. By Yasmin I like the show when people threw the sand up in the air. By Abigail I am going to the story about the paper man with the toilet paper on the suitcase bag. By Amy I like when he danced. By Theo I like it when he cuddled Sabine. By Stella...

Fabulous Artists!

Room 3 have been making observational drawings using line and shading. They have been using a variety of tools to demonstrate different techniques. The first picture they made was a wonderful self portrait using wax crayons and dye. This is what they looked like. BubbleShare: Share photos - Find great Clip Art Images .

Statistical Investigations!

Room 3 have been learning about Statistics. They have collected a range of information and have been learning how to plot this information onto bar graphs. One day they each had a packet of M and M mini lollies and had to sort them out according to their colours. They then had to plot this information onto their own graph. At the end of this they reflected as a class about what they had found out. They discovered that there were more blue M and M minis and less brown M and M minis. This is what we did.
