Room 3 Snapshot

News Time In Room 3 we are now very good at l istening   to one another during news time and speaking out clearly when it is our turn to contribute. We are learning to ask questions  based on what we see and hear during this time.   Learning to co-operate and work together   In this activity we worked with a partner making decisions together, taking responsibility and working out the best outcomes. We produced a pamphlet looking at differences between objects our grandparents used in their homes when they were young and how those objects have changed over time.As well as learning about those changes we also learned a lot about how to work with a partner.       Well done everyone.   Junior Assembly. Award Winners

Congratulations ! Macy, Monty and Finn received awards at our full school assembly on Friday. Well done! We are all proud of you!! Macy never gives up. Finn is a kind and caring member of our class. Monty is trying hard to always be the best that he can be.

A visit from an author

Last week we had a visit from Lucas Chisholm. He used to be a student in our classroom many years ago when he was five and is now a published author. He brought his book to show us. We really enjoyed the story and now he is off around the country to share it with other school children. 

Our wonderful Grandparents and Grand-friends!

What a lovely afternoon we had on Thursday! Our grandparents and grandfriends joined us at school for the afternoon. First we met in the hall and sang some songs including our school song to our special visitors. We were delighted that they had come from all over New Zealand and even from Australia and England to join us. We then escorted our visitors to our classroom. We showed our quality work to our grandparents and grandfriends who were very proud of us and then they showed us items that they had bought along to school. We then sat in a circle to find out what the grandparents and grandfriends had brought along. We were fascinated and so amazed at the stories and special memories that they shared. We then went outside and had a lovely afternoon tea together in the sunshine. We had such a great time together and we would love them all to visit again. ...
