It is Brain Week!

This week we are learning all about the brain and are doing all sorts of activities that use different parts of our brains.

On Monday, Mr Saker came to school to talk to us and then we touched a model of a brain and then looked inside.

Room 3 used the dough to create their favourite animal. They made all sorts including crocodiles, cats, dogs, peacocks, snakes and bears. They then wrote stories to describe their animal using exciting adjectives.

On Tuesday, Room 3 used 'Happy Sticks' to do different movements and demonstrate a range of rhythms to music. They also did some Brain gym too.

Room 3 searched the newspapers and had lots of fun using the highlighters to find the word 'the' among the articles. Some children found over forty.

We then went outside to write as many words as we could spell on the concrete using different coloured chalk. We are very clever to be able to spell so many words already!

WOW!   Amazing! What a lot of words we wrote!
We wrote so many that we covered the tennis courts.

Room 3 listened to a book entitled 'Spots.' They then drew a picture of an animal that would have spots on it's body. They then used spot stickers on them.
