Wednesday Fun!

On Wednesday we started learning some new routines in Jumpjam with our friends around the Junior School. This got our brains thinking and our bodies moving ready for our day's learning.
                                                 Room 3 love using the Ipads. 
                                 Hannah and Sarah explored an app about the brain. 
Charlotte practiced her handwriting and wrote some fantastic 'd's.
Ori and Bruno made music together on the piano keyboard.
                          Our friends from Room 1 and our buddy class Room 11 joined us.
                         We designed and made fabulous fish out of tissue paper together.
              We all went to the hall to see if we could move our fish quickly to the finishing line.
                                                      It was such a lot of fun!
              Room 3 have been learning about Wassily Kandinsky and some of his art works. 
  We tried to recreate paintings to look like the one he did of squares with concentric circles. 
               Everyone mixed their primary colours and painted circles in a variety of colours .
                         We listened to music as we painted and did a fantastic job!












              Room 3 have really loved exploring and creating different colours with paint!

  Diwali. We have been working hard during our Inquiry time learning about festivals and celebrations.The Indian festival of Diwali is centred around Light so we have been busy using our collage skills to create beautiful candles. Collage requires Patience and Perseverance. Well worth all the hard work though!! .     We also painted our own beautiful D iva's-  small candles which are placed around peoples homes during Diwali.   Lights welcome the New Year and create a happy festive atmosphere. Come into Room 3 and see what you think!

Performing Arts

We are enjoying working with Mrs Hooke doing Performing Arts on a Thursday morning-moving to music and learning to make interesting shapes with our bodies. We also enjoyed having some time on Friday to construct models using old boxes,egg cartons etc.When describing our models we tried to think of interesting words. We spoke clearly and listened to each other.Some of the models were constructed in teams and we all co-operated together.    It's so enjoyable to work together. Well done Room 3!
