Welcome to Room 3 - 2017.

Room 3 is underway-welcome to all our new students. We are delighted to have you at Muritai and know that you will strive to be 'the best that you can be'. Routines are being established and every day we are being introduced to something new.

Here is a snapshot of some of the things we have been up to.

Awesome reading from our book boxes after morning tea and lunch - so quiet and focussed!

 In Room 3 we use 'kind words, kind hands and kind feet! At circle time we used our kind hands on the friend sitting next to us. We have spent a lot of time talking about how we can make our classroom a happy one.








First time at the Writing Table. 

 

 And ----working at our wonderful new tables for our guided reading session. Great work on those Word Walls!


When working outside we are learning to work together as a team and with a partner. This term we will be working with the big balls - rolling, bouncing and throwing. Great start Room 3!



We are learning to share and co-operate with our new classmates and to listen to other people's ideas and opinions.

Keep an eye out for those hungry caterpillars linked to our inquiry on changes over time.

Last term Room 3 had Performing Arts lessons each week. They learnt lots of different dances. On Friday, they shared one of the dances that they had learnt at the Full School Assembly. The audience sang as they did the dance. We hope you enjoy it!

  Diwali. We have been working hard during our Inquiry time learning about festivals and celebrations.The Indian festival of Diwali is centred around Light so we have been busy using our collage skills to create beautiful candles. Collage requires Patience and Perseverance. Well worth all the hard work though!! .     We also painted our own beautiful D iva's-  small candles which are placed around peoples homes during Diwali.   Lights welcome the New Year and create a happy festive atmosphere. Performing Arts

We are enjoying working with Mrs Hooke doing Performing Arts on a Thursday morning-moving to music and learning to make interesting shapes with our bodies. We also enjoyed having some time on Friday to construct models using old boxes,egg cartons etc.When describing our models we tried to think of interesting words. We spoke clearly and listened to each other.Some of the models were constructed in teams and we all co-operated together.    It's so enjoyable to work together. Well done Room 3!
