Jane Lloyd, an artist, visited us and taught us how to draw a picture of a bucket, pumpkin and a book using pencil and also how to do shading. This is what we did.

Hi Room 3 Mauis mum is in Melbourne at the moment and its great to see all the budding artists in room 3 and keep up with the wonderful activities that you are all doing. Well done!
Static Electricity. Static electricity stays in one place. It is produced when some materials are rubbed together. It causes crackles when you comb your hair. We took some sheets of green paper and tore it up into small pieces. We used a pen to add two black dots and hey presto we had some frogs .!! We combed our hair with a plastic comb quite a few times .We held the combs over the frogs and they came alive !!! The frogs jumped up because the comb had static electricity. Did you know Lightning is caused by a natural build up of static electricity in clouds? The lightning strike is just a giant spark of electricity. We are working hard learning our Letterland characters. Kicking King says k in words -. Great work Room 3!!
On Thursday, we dressed up in the colours of green or red and in the afternoon we went to the hall to perform some of our Christmas songs. Maz was the announcer and the very big audience really enjoyed our concert. We then had a yummy Christmas party outside under the sunshade with everyone.
Wow - this week we had a ride on a double decker bus from school into Wellington and back. When we were in Wellington, we were an audience to three fantastic shows as part of the Capital E Children's Art Festival. On Friday, we had another earthquake practice and we are all very good at the 'turtle' position. We also welcomed Brodie and Amelia to our class.
