Gym on Wednesdays 

Room 3 join with the other Year One classes on a Wednesday morning for Gymnastics.We are warming up in some of these photos. Activities include walking the beam,jumping on the springboard and landing on the mat and pencil rolls. 











Great fun on a Wednesday!!

Wow - this week we had a ride on a double decker bus from school into Wellington and back. When we were in Wellington, we were an audience to three fantastic shows as part of the Capital E Children's Art Festival. On Friday, we had another earthquake practice and we are all very good at the 'turtle' position. We also welcomed Brodie and Amelia to our class.

Our Inquiry about the past

We have been learning about our family tree and the activities that our parents and grandparents did as children compared to what we do. Ana showed us photos of her grandparents and Ted showed us a quilt his grandma had made for him. The teachers showed items from their childhood. There was a small child's sewing machine, a wooden dolly peg, glass milk bottle, telephone and elastic twist game. We even saw a photo of what Muritai School looked like one hundred years ago.
