This week we will begin learning some interesting facts about Chinese New Year and how this important festival is celebrated in New Zealand. We have hung our special lanterns  and can't wait to get started. We have discussed some of the facts we already know and what we would like to learn. We are also wondering if what we think we know will change as we explore this fantastic festival.

We think Chinese New Year :
has something to do with Dragons
has lots of dancing
has a lot to do with the colour Red
has lots and lots of lanterns

We think people
eat lots of oranges
have big parties
buy new clothes
have fun.

Let's see if we are right.

Meanwhile we have completed some lovely Art work around the celebration of Diwali.

And talking about celebrations-what fantastic writing we have been doing in Room 3.Recently we had some fun innovating on the story of Mrs Wishy Washy.

Well done Room 3. Your buddy class loved looking at some of these on the wall.
