100 days at school!

On Wednesday, it was our '100 days at school' celebration!
Over the day we did a whole range of activities involving one hundred. We learnt a new song about 100, we counted forwards to 100 and back again. We read 100 books over the day and here are some of the other activities that we did.

At writing time we had to think about what we would do if we had $100...I

Our teacher read us a pop up book, along with our buddies, involving 100 animals.
With our big buddies we had dot - to - dot puzzles.
We had to think of and write down 100 animals together.
We also thought of 100 boys names, 100 girls names and 100 plants.
We then had a yummy shared lunch together.

After lunch we went outside. First we had to walk 100 steps forwards and backwards and then we had to count as we passed the ball around the circle.

Everyone then bounced their own ball 100 times.

Inside we went and then used lots of equipment about one hundred. We counted iceblocks sticks in ones, twos, fives and tens to 100. We threaded beads and made a trail of blocks and built structures with 100 blocks. We counted on the 100's boards and abacus and number lines.

More dot to dot activities!

Estimating and weighing 100 items to see which ones are heavier

Trying to decide which container has 100 items in it. Which one do you think?
Ori finished 100 nights of reading! Well done!
Sarah's mum made us a delicious chocolate gateau and our teacher lit 100 candles. We loved the sparkler candles and after blowing out the candles we got to eat the cake.

Everyone in room 3 earned a 100 days at school certificate for all the wonderful learning that they have been doing.
Well done everyone in Room 3!
You have all worked very hard over the past one hundred days at school. Keep up this fabulous effort for the next 100!
